(4.48) I am an adult and need a service that requires payment of a copay, coinsurance, or deductible. Can the regional center pay for it?

Yes, if you meet the requirements described below.

For adults, the regional center may pay for insurance copays, coinsurance, and deductibles associated with a service or support. The service must be included in your IPP, and payment is needed to ensure that you receive the service.

The following criteria must also all be met:

  1. Your annual gross income is at or below 400 percent of the federal poverty level.
  2. There is no other third-party responsible for the cost of the service. [1]Welfare and Institutions Code Sec. 4659.1(b).
