Yes. The DD Waiver is the common waiver for regional center consumers. But there are other waivers in California. For example, some regional center consumers are on the Home- and Community-Based Alternatives (HCB Alternatives) Waiver. You may qualify for services under the HCB Alternatives Waiver or the DD Waiver. But, you can only be under one home and community-based services waiver at a time. State law says that the regional center must use generic resources, such as Medi-Cal, to implement your IPP. The regional center may put you on the DD Waiver or the HCB Alternatives Waiver to have you access generic resources.[1]Welf. & Inst. Code § 4648(a)(8).
