La Corte Suprema de California dice que la Ley Lanterman brinda a las personas con discapacidades del desarrollo los servicios y apoyos que eligen y necesitan para llevar una vida m\u00e1s independiente y productiva. Si tiene fondos para contratar servicios, el centro regional debe proporcionar servicios y apoyos basados en sus necesidades y preferencias individuales hechas a trav\u00e9s del proceso de IPP. El Tribunal ha dictaminado que los centros regionales tienen amplia discreci\u00f3n sobre <em>c\u00f3mo<\/em> implementar un IPP. Pero no tienen discreci\u00f3n sobre <em>si <\/em>implementarlo. Solicite una audiencia imparcial si el centro regional niega o reduce sus servicios o apoyos debido a la falta de dinero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si el centro regional dice que no puede proporcionar (o debe detener o recortar) un servicio en su IPP debido a la falta de dinero, usted debe obtener la correspondiente notificaci\u00f3n por escrito. El centro regional tambi\u00e9n debe notificar al DDS por escrito dentro de los 30 d\u00edas posteriores a la fecha en que lo notific\u00f3 a usted.
